Man Killed In East Garfield Park Saturday Identified: Authorities

CHICAGO — A 22-year-old man was fatally shot in East Garfield Park Saturday morning, according to police.

The man was in the 3300 block of West Polk Street at 7 a.m. when he was shot, said Officer Janel Sedevic, citing preliminary information.

He was pronounced dead on the scene, she said.

The man has been identified as Derrius Lares, of the 6600 block of South Hoyne Street, according to the Cook County Medical Examiner's Office.

No additional information was immediately available.
