Man Fatally Shot In Austin Thursday Night Identified: Authorities

AUSTIN — A 20-year-old man was shot and killed as he sat in a parked car near his home in Austin on Thursday night, police said. 

At 10:12 p.m., the man was a passenger in a car in the 1700 block of North Menard Street in Austin when he was shot, said Officer Jose Estrada, a Chicago Police spokesman.

He was hit in his left shoulder and was taken to Mt. Sinai Hospital, where he was later pronounced dead, Estrada said.

The man has been identified as Deante Dale, of the 1700 block of North Mernard, according to the Cook County Medical Examiner's office.

No one is in custody, Estrada said.
