HERMOSA — A 39-year-old man was found shot to death in an alley in Hermosa Sunday night, police said.
At 6 p.m., police found a man dead in the alley in the 1900 block of North Keeler Avenue in Hermosa, said Officer Jose Estrada, a Chicago Police spokesman.
The man, who had been shot in the back, was taken to St. Mary's Hospital, where he was pronounced dead, Estrada said.
The man was identified as Rene Ramirez, who lived on the same block as where he was found, according to Cook County Medical Examiner's records. Ramirez was pronounced dead of a gunshot wound to his posterior torso at 7 p.m., according to the Medical Examiner's Office.
No one is in custody, Estrada said.
