Uptown Shooting Injures 66-Year-Old Woman, Police Say

CHICAGO — A 66-year-old woman was shot and wounded in Uptown on Saturday, police said.

At 3 p.m., the woman was standing in the 1000 block of West Wilson Avenue when she heard loud shots and felt pain, said Officer Janel Sedevic, Chicago Police spokeswoman.

The woman was shot in her right leg and taken to Weiss Memorial Hospital, where she was in "stable" condition, Sedevic said.
