ANDERSONVILLE — Pastoral is set to offer weekend brunch and introduce a weekday morning menu at its Andersonville location.

The company will debut its brunch menu, which offers "a simple, authentic approach to brunch food and libations," from 9 a.m.-3 p.m Saturday at Appellation, the wine bar and restaurant inside Pastoral. Beginning at 7 a.m. Tuesday, the cheese shop at 5212 N. Clark St. will become the only of the company's locations to offer weekday counter service breakfast, according to a press release.

"We’re thrilled to expand our offering with weekend brunch and weekday breakfast counter service,” co-owner Greg O’Neill said.

The brunch menu was created by Chef Jesse Williams and features "a range of rustic and creative cuisine that focuses primarily on high-quality, seasonal ingredients accented by the cheeses Pastoral has championed for more than 10 years." The menu will include baked French toast, eggs baked in squash-herb cream sauce, steak and eggs and a warm mushroom and kale salad. The full menu is available here.

The European breakfast menu will feature Counter Culture Coffee, Rishi Tea, Katherine Anne drinking chocolate and pastries from Evanston's Hewn Bakery. Williams will also provide the shop with specialty toast, house-made granola with yogurt and other treats. The breakfast items will be available to take home or can be eaten at cafe tables, the release said.

“Chef Jesse is renowned for her brunch dishes and will make Appellation a fun and delicious addition to the morning scene in Andersonville," O'Neill said.

To coincide with the launch, Pastoral on Monday will unveil its second art exhibit "Interruptions," which features paintings from Andersonville artist Robert Porazinski. The opening reception will take place from 6-8 p.m. and feature free cheese and wine. The exhibit will run through April.
