Garfield Park Shooting Kills 18-Year-Old Man, Police Say

CHICAGO — A shooting in Garfield Park Wednesday morning left an 18-year-old man dead, police said.

At 9:30 a.m., the man was shot in the head in the 0-100 block of South Kenton Avenue, said Officer Janel Sedevic, Chicago Police spokeswoman.

The man was taken to Stroger Hospital, where he was pronounced dead, Sedevic said. He was identified as Antonio Pollards, of the 1400 block of South Drake, in Cook County Medical Examiner's records. Pollards was pronounced dead at 10:05 a.m. of multiple gunshot wounds.

No one is in custody in the shooting.
