CHICAGO — A shooting Wednesday in Auburn Gresham left a 26-year-old man dead and a 62-year-old woman wounded, police said.

At 2:50 p.m., the two were inside a car in traffic in the 7900 block of South Laflin Street when someone shot at them, said Officer Janel Sedevic, Chicago Police spokeswoman. Both were shot in the head.

The man was pronounced dead at the scene, Sedevic said. He was identified as Phillip Dupree, of the 3400 block of West 76th Place, in Cook County Medical Examiner's Office records. Dupree was pronounced dead at 3:20 p.m.

The woman was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center, where she was in serious condition, Sedevic said. Police could not say if the two people were related.

The incident might be gang-related, police said.

No one is in custody in the shooting.
