UPTOWN — Mark Hood, who competed in NBC's "The Voice" competition this season, will return to the Black Ensemble Theater on Sunday for a live performance that's half theater and half concert.

Hood has performed in a number of shows at the theater at at 4450 N. Clark St. including: "Sounds So Sweet, At Last: A Tribute To Etta James," "The Story of Curtis Mayfield, Ain’t No Crying The Blues," "The Memory of Howlin Wolf" and "Little Alvin’s Big Science Project."

"The Black Ensemble Theater is home for me. I learned my chops on that stage, I had the freedom to explore and find out who I was as a performer," he said. "I'm so excited to be back, and ready to let that stage have it... for old times sake."

On Sunday night "you will hear hits from ["The Voice"] and learn about the behind the scenes aspect like what was going on in my head during each round, why certain songs were chosen, and much more. I'm re-living "The Voice," he said.

The Black Ensemble Theater show, which is marketed for all ages, will begin at 7:30 p.m. It will also feature a special guest from the show, according to the Facebook event.

Tickets to the show are $22 and available here. To read more about Hood's time on The Voice and growing up in Chicago click here.
