EDISON PARK — Ebinger Elementary School will host a blood and marrow drive in memory of Joshua Talbot, a student who died from cancer in September.

Joshua, 14, died in September after suffering from acute myeloid leukemia and acute lymphoblastic leukemia. He attended Ebinger Elementary School in Edison Park, along with his sister and brothers.

Organized by Lifesource and the Talbot family, the blood and marrow drive will take place from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at Ebinger, 7350 W. Pratt Ave.

"We know that every donation will help make someone's life better, and that is exactly what Joshua would have wanted," the Talbot family said in a statement.

To make an appointment to participate in the blood and marrow drive, call 877-543-3768 or go to lifesource.org and use sponsor code 393D.
