UPTOWN AND ANDERSONVILLE — Whether you're excited to celebrate David Bowie's birthday or want to spend time "storycising" with your young ones, there's something for everyone to do this weekend in Andersonville and Uptown.

Here's some events happening this weekend in the neighborhood:

Celebrate David Bowie's Birthday: Elixir Andersonville will celebrate David Bowie's 69th Birthday and the release of his 25th album, "Blackstar," Friday with David Bowie-themed cocktails. The Black Constellation is made with sambuca, xolotl almond, Sparrow Coffee, star anise and silver-leaf-wrapped cardamon pods. The Aladdin Sane is made with gin, aperol, lemon, egg white, Angostura Bitters and disco dust. The Birthday Cake is made with gin, vanilla gomme, lemon, egg white, butter and rainbow sprinkles. 1509 W. Balmoral Ave.

Catch a show at the Neo-Futurarium: The Neo-Futurists will be performing "Too Much Light Makes The Baby Go Blind," all weekend. The show attempts to perform 30 plays in 60 minutes. 11:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday, 7 p.m. Sunday. 5153 N. Ashland Ave. $20.

Beth Stelling Featured in "Paper Machete Live:" Beth Stelling, a comedian who recently has made headlines after saying she was raped and abused by her ex-boyfriend, will appear in the live magazine show featuring commentary on current events and pop culture Saturday at the Green Mill. Also featured are Sean Flannery, Dave Helem, Sam Irby, Patrick Rowland and Team Submarine. 3 p.m. Green Mill, 4802 N. Broadway. Free.

Storycise with Dot Kane: Storyteller Dot Kane will offer a demo of "storycise," which combines storytelling, dance, yoga, comedy and exercise for children. The demonstrations, which are billed for children ages 3-7, will be held at Women and Children First. 3 p.m. Saturday. 5233 N. Clark St. Free.

Underground Friday at Uptown Underground: The Kiss Kiss Cabaret, Her Good Time Galz, Boy Toy's Pocket Cabaret and Muffy Fishbasket will all perform Friday night at the bar below Broadway.  Entertainment begins at 8 p.m. with acts performing every 30 minutes. 4713 N. Broadway. $25 cover.

Rachel Brathen at the Aragon Ballroom: International yoga teacher Rachel Brathen will host a workshop at the Aragon Ballroom Sunday. 2 p.m. 1106 W. Lawrence Ave. $60.

Uptown Poetry Slam at Green Mill: The poetry slam is hosted by Marc Smith at the Green Mill Sunday night. A $10 prize will be given to the Open Slam winner. 7-10 p.m. 4802 N. Broadway. $7.
