CHICAGO — A 17-year-old died and nine other people were hurt in shootings across the city between Thursday morning and Friday morning, police said.

Police arrested two men near the block in Brighton Park where a teen was gunned down, according to Officer Janel Sedevic, a Chicago Police spokeswoman.

A 57-year-old man with a concealed carry permit was struck by a car after he shot a man who was trying to rob him, Sedevic said.

Two men were wounded, one critically, in separate shootings within four blocks of each other in Humboldt Park Thursday, Sedevic said.

A man was in good condition after being shot in his buttocks in Woodlawn Thursday evening, Sedevic said.

• Most recently, around 2:30 a.m. Friday morning, a 40-year-old man was buying cigarettes in the 4400 block of West Monroe Street in West Garfield Park when someone walked up to him, pointed a gun and announced a robbery, Sedevic said.

The robber shot the man in his leg and his arm before fleeing, Sedevic said.

The man's wife drove him to Stroger Hospital, where he was listed in serious condition, Sedevic said.

• Around 6:10 p.m., two men and a woman were sitting on a porch in the 1100 block of South Mozart Avenue in North Lawndale when two men jumped out of a white sedan and shot at them, Sedevic said.

One man, 26, was shot in his back and his buttocks, Sedevic said. Another, 23, was shot in his right foot, right arm and left leg.

Both men were brought to Mount Sinai Hospital, where they were listed in serious condition, Sedevic said.

The woman, 19, refused medical attention after a bullet grazed her left wrist, Sedevic said.

• Around 3:45 p.m., a 26-year-old man was walking in the 11200 block of South Edbrooke Avenue in Roseland when he heard gunshots and felt pain, Sedevic said.

The man was taken to Roseland Hospital and transferred to Mount Sinai Hospital, Sedevic said, where his condition stabilized after he was treated for a gunshot wound in his upper leg.
