GREATER GRAND CROSSING — Police will set up checkpoints Saturday and Sunday in an effort to nab drunk drivers on the South Side, according to a Thursday announcement.

A team of breathalyzer-equipped "roving police officers" from the Deering district will be on the lookout for reckless drivers between 7 p.m Saturday and 3 a.m. Sunday, the announcement said.

The "DUI Strike Force" will also hand out citations for license violations, seat belt violations and any other infractions they encounter.
