RIVER NORTH — The owners of River North haunt Hubbard Inn are taking over the bar next door, one with a rooftop offering skyline views.

Steve Tavoso confirmed to DNAinfo Chicago on Tuesday that he sold Epic, a three-story bar and rooftop at 112 W. Hubbard St., to the Hubbard Inn. Epic's last day in business was Saturday, and Tavoso expects Hubbard Inn will start renovating its new bar "pretty soon."

"We're neighbors, we talked and thought we had a good deal," Tavoso said. "They thought they could do some more with the space and I agreed with them."

It's unclear whether the Hubbard Inn, 110 W. Hubbard, plans to expand into the Epic space or open a new bar. Chris Bader, a Hubbard Inn co-owner, declined to comment, and another owner, Carmen Rossi, did not immediately return a message seeking comment.

Epic opened in late 2009 and was known for its rooftop. Check back later for any updates.
