CHICAGO — A man was killed in an accident at the Ford plant in South Deering on Saturday, and another man was injured while trying to help him.

At 10:48 a.m. Saturday, an 8-by-8-foot section of concrete wall at the plant, 12600 S. Torrence Ave., fell on a 45-year-old man, pinning him down, officials said. The workers were able to remove the concrete, said Cmdr. Juan Hernandez, Chicago Fire spokesman. The man was taken to Trinity Hospital in critical condition and was later pronounced dead, said Officer Jose Estrada, Chicago Police spokesman.

The man was identified as John Jaloway, of suburban Carol Stream, according to Cook County Medical Examiner's records. Jaloway was pronounced dead at 11:11 a.m.
