UPTOWN AND ANDERSONVILLE — Whether you're going all out for your New Year's Eve celebration or keeping close watch of your money after Christmas, there's plenty going on around the neighborhood to keep you occupied.
Here's a list of events happening in Uptown and Andersonville on New Year's Eve:
Hullabaloo at Uptown Underground: The bar below Broadway's New Year's Eve Hullabaloo! features two hours of performances by The Kiss Kiss Cabaret, Chicago Magic Lounge, Muffy Fishbasket, SpeakUNeasy, Boy Toy's Pocket Cabaret and special guests. The night includes a free cocktail and hors d'oeuvres hour. New Year's Eve drink specials and a dessert buffet will be served. The new year will be welcomed with a champagne toast. The party continues until 2 a.m. with a live performance from Erin McDougald and her jazz ensemble. Tickets are $75-$100. 4707 N. Broadway
Dinner at Riques: Enjoy a handcrafted Chef Enrique for New Year's Eve from 6-10 p.m. Seating available by reservation only. Click here to reserve a seat. Dinner is $30 per person. 5004 N. Sheridan Road.
Eat, Drink and Dance at the Black Ensemble Theater: The night will feature excerpts from "Men of Soul" and "Dynamite Divas," open mic, smooth jazz in the upstairs lobby and music and dancing with DJ Ervin "Magic" Gardner. Hors d'oeuvres and champagne will also be served. Tickets are $125 for individuals and $200 for couples. The party begins at 8 p.m. 4450 N. Clark St.
No Fuss New Year at Hamburger Mary's: Mary has the answer for those who hate the cliched pretension and high cover charges of New Year's Eve parties. The "No Fuss" celebration features a DJ, room to dance and a midnight toast without the coverage charge and no drink package. Plus, Andersonville Brewing will be open for the bowl games, college football lovers. 5400 N. Clark St.
Dinner at Andies Restaurant: Andies will be open from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. on New Year's Eve and New Year's Day serving its Grand Ultimate Buffet. The buffet includes seasoned turkey, other meats, vegetarian options, fruit and a sweets table. The meal is $24.95 per person and $13.95 for children. Reservations are recommended. 5253 N. Clark St.
Menu Tasting at Big Jones: Big Jones will serve its regular lunch menu from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. From 5 p.m.-midnight, it will begin its celebration of the new year featuring a five-course-tasting menu. The menu includes vegetarian options. The celebration costs $49 per person and has a drink pairing option for an additional $30. 5347 N. Clark St.
No Cover at Lady Gregory's: Beginning at 5 p.m., Lady Gregory's will host a New Year's Eve Party featuring a DJ, party favors and champagne toast. No cover charge. 5254 N. Clark St.
