Bridgeport Burglaries Lead to Warning from Police

BRIDGEPORT — Deering District detectives said there has been a rash of garage burglaries in the neighborhood.

Police said the crimes took place:

• At 8:08 p.m. Dec. 9 in the 3200 block of South Union Avenue

• At 7:45 a.m. Dec. 16 in the 3300 block of South Lowe Avenue

• At midnight Dec. 21 in the 3500 block of South Union Avenue

• At 5 a.m. Dec. 22 in the 2800 block of South Lowe Avenue

Here’s what Chicago Police say you can do to keep your homes and property safe:

• Keep your property well lit

• Report all suspicious activity

• Keep doors and windows secured

• Immediately repair any broken windows, doors or locks

• If video surveillance is available, make a copy of the footage of the crime for detectives.

• If your home is burglarized, do not touch anything. Call police instead.

• If you find witnesses, request their contact information for detectives.
