WEST ROGERS PARK — Police say an 18-year-old Evanston man landed in jail early Thursday for breaking into several neighborhood homes and stealing Christmas presents.

Alston Rodriguez was arrested at 1 a.m. Thursday, when Chicago Police saw him trying to break through the window of a home in the 2100 block of West Rosemont Avenue, according to a news release.

Police were able to recover some stolen items, including Christmas gifts.

Rodriguez, later identified as the culprit in several other area burglaries, now stands charged with two counts of burglary and two counts of attempted burglary.
