Man Charged In Fatal Christmas Eve Roseland Stabbing

ROSELAND — A 26-year-old man has been charged in connection to the fatal stabbing of another man in an "altercation," police said.

The stabbing happened around 5:30 p.m. in the 300 block of West 111th Place, where a 42-year-old man got into an argument with another man, who eventually pulled out a knife.

The 42-year-old man was stabbed in his chest and later pronounced dead at Advocate Christ Medical Center at 7:51 p.m., according to police and county records.

He was later identified as Eugene Bailey, of the 1200 block of West 115th Street, according to county records.

Jeremy Givens, of the 200 block of West 111th Place, was later arrested for the crime, police said.

Givens faces one charge of first degree murder.
