How To Get Your Pics On One Of Chicago's Hottest Instagram Accounts

CHICAGO — Scores of the city's best photographers are showcased on Choose Chicago's Instagram account.

And you have a chance to join them.

"Photographers are handpicked based on their photography, creativity and love for Chicago," said Nycole Hampton, Choose Chicago's social media manager. "We are always considering new talent."

The account has nearly 100,000 followers and posts about two photos a day from selected photographers from neighborhoods throughout Chicago. It utilizes pics from about 80 photographers, with 30 more to be added by summer 2016. Those photographers also get to "take over" the Choose Chicago Instagram account by choosing their own photos to upload.

Prospective photographers can tag their photos #mychicagopix to be considered. That hashtag has been used more than 230,000 times by the general public, Hampton said.

@the606chicago is an old abandoned rail line turned into a 2.7 mile trail and park.
