BUCKTOWN —  Twinkling trees and lights that look like Christmas stockings appealed to DNAinfo Chicago readers, who picked the "606" facing home as tops in a holiday lights contest.

Located along the eastern half of the elevated 2.7-mile long Bloomingdale Trail, which runs past hundreds of homes in Bucktown, Wicker Park, Logan Square and Humboldt Park, the single-family Bucktown home on Wolcott Avenue got 143 votes from readers who weighed in on 14 different displays.

The owner was unable to be reached for comment on Wednesday.  Stio, an outdoor apparel store at 1719 N. Damen Ave., offered to donate a jacket or vest to the winner of the contest/poll.

In related holiday news, hundreds of fans of The 606 walked the length of the Bloomingdale Trail this past Sunday for the new park's first holiday event.

The festival of lights by the People's Promenade Walk featured cyclists and families decked out in lights, as well as fire performances and toasting s'mores over a grill.  Watch a video of the walk on the Friends of the Bloomingdale Trail Facebook page.
