WICKER PARK — Perhaps you should make that health food resolution start in February — tickets for the 3rd annual Donut Fest just went on sale.

On Jan. 31, doughnut makers will again bring their best crullers, fritters, Long Johns and more varieties of the pastry to Wicker Park and vie for the title of "Best Donut in Chicago."

Held at the Chop Shop's 1st Ward, 2033 W. North Ave., Donut Fest will offer doughnut samples from 18 restaurants and coffee from five local roasters.

So far, shops like last year's winner Firecakes, Glazed & Infused, Beaver Donuts, Stan's Donuts and Doughnut Vault have signed on, according to the vendor lineup.

To wash all those delicious doughnuts down, eaters can enjoy coffee from Bowtruss, Dark Matter, Ipsento, David's Tea, Big Shoulders and more.

Tickets are $35 for general admission or $50 for VIP access. The event is divided into two sessions, either 9 a.m. to noon or 2 to 5 p.m.

General admission tickets include everything that VIP status does, except for the early admission.

A tasting includes one-fourth of a doughnut from each vendor.

While children are welcome as long as they have a ticket, strollers are not permitted, according to the event organizers.

Proceeds from ticket sales will go to Un86'd, a nonprofit that helps restaurant industry workers in need.
