BEVERLY — A string of garage break-ins in West Beverly and Morgan Park prompted the Chicago Police Department to issue an alert late last week.

Four garages were targeted from Nov. 20-Dec. 10, and all of the robberies happened between midnight-6 a.m. The robber enters using a pry tool, according to police in the Morgan Park District.

In one robbery at 4:30 a.m. on Dec. 10, a black man between 25-35 years old was spotted. He was wearing wearing dark clothing and riding a mountain bike. He was seen with a stolen snow blower, police said.

The robberies have occurred in the 10500 block of South Artesian Avenue, the 10900 block of south Campbell Avenue and the 10700 block of South Maplewood Avenue, according to the police alert distributed on Thursday afternoon.

The police department encouraged anyone witnessing any suspicious individuals or activity to call 911 and provide a detailed description. Police also recommend locking all garage doors and vehicles within.

If you have any information about these incidents, call Area South Property Crimes at 312-747-8273.
