CHICAGO — Two people were shot and injured outside a West Town nightclub Sunday morning, police said.

A group of people rode together to a nightclub in the 1400 block of West Wabansia Avenue, said Officer Bari Lemmon, Chicago Police spokeswoman. At 3:50 a.m., after leaving the club, a man from the group got into an argument with another passenger on the sidewalk, and he took out a gun and fired it, Lemmon said.

The argument allegedly began inside Koncrete Nightclub, 1675 N. Elston Ave., according to a report in Our Urban Times, a community newspaper.

A 21-year-old woman was shot in her head and taken to Illinois Masonic Medical Center, where she was in critical condition, Lemmon said. A 23-year-old man was hit in his leg and was in "stable" condition at the hospital. She did not say whether his injuries were life-threatening.

The shooter drove away in another car, Lemmon said.

A call to Koncrete for comment about the shooting was not immediately returned. The club is in the ward of Ald. Brian Hopkins (2nd), and a call to his office Sunday morning was not immediately returned.

According to the Sun Times: "The crime scene on West Wabansia Avenue stretched from North Ada Street to North Elston Avenue. A white Hyundai Volster was parked on West Wabansia Avenue with the driver side door open and marked shell casings scattered around it."

No one is in custody for the shooting.

The club, under the name Krush, was the site of a fatal shooting in 2012
