WICKER PARK — Hundreds of needy kids will get toys thanks to a variety show at Emporium Arcade Bar in Wicker Park that asks attendees to donate a toy in exchange for admission.
More than 200 people have RSVP'd to the event on a Facebook page for the event.
Set for 8 p.m. Sunday at the bar at 1366 N. Milwaukee Ave., the "Incredibly Strange Holiday Spectacular" will include performances by Neil Hamburger, a standup comedian and several other personalities.
To get into the show, between now and the Sunday, revelers need to drop off a new, unwrapped toy to Taco in a Bag, 4603 N. Lincoln Ave., or make an online donation.
Tickets will be given on a first come first serve basis, according to the event's Facebook page.
All of the collected toys will be donated to small community centers and storefront churches throughout the city.
"We want to make sure we give back to our community and that these toys get in the hands of the people that need them the most," the group posted.
