BEVERLY — The robbery of three pharmacies on the Far Southwest Side prompted the Chicago Police Department to issue an alert on Thursday afternoon.
The incidents in the Beverly and Mount Greenwood communities all involve a robber who approaches a pharmacist and displays a note implying he is armed and threatening to shoot if he's refused, according to police in the Morgan Park District.
The robber then demands pharmaceutical drugs — though a weapon has never actually been displayed, police said.
The suspect is described as a black man between 19-25 years old. He is between 5 feet, 8 inches and 6 feet tall and weighs about 150 lbs. He wears a hooded sweatshirt with the hood pulled over his head, according to police
The robberies all occurred between 10 a.m.-1 p.m. at the following addresses:
• Dec. 10 in the 3100 block of West 103rd Street in Mount Greenwood
• Dec. 9 in the 2300 block of West 103rd Street in Beverly
• Nov. 20 in the 3200 block of West 111th Street in Mount Greenwood
