STREETERVILLE — An Uber driver frustrated with two passengers attacked them with a snow brush near Navy Pier Tuesday, authorities said.

Chieh Wang, 37, picked up two passengers at 255 E. Grand Ave. and became irate when one of the women was not ready to be picked up because she was checking out at a nearby Whole Foods, police said. Wang drove off and came back to the location a short time later and attacked the women with a snow brush, police said.

"This type of behavior is unacceptable and is not tolerated," Uber spokeswoman Kayla Whaling said in a statement. "As soon as we were aware of this incident, we immediately removed this driver's access to Uber. We will provide any information to local law enforcement as needed for their investigation."

Wang, of the 4300 block of South Talman Avenue, was charged with two counts of misdemeanor battery and one count of misdemeanor criminal damage to property, police said.

The Tribune obtained video of the incident (watch it below) from the victims, who were identified by the paper as Kourtney Wilson and Toni Sanders. They requested the Uber when they discovered that their vehicle had been towed. The women refused medical attention, the Tribune reported.
