UPTOWN — A new arcade and bar is heading to Broadway in Uptown.

Uptown Arcade, at 4830 N. Broadway, recently finished its licensing and hopes to open soon, said General Manager Aaron Allen, adding he didn't want to set an opening day just yet.

The spot will have a full bar and 35 classic arcade games including Frogger, X-Men, Bad Dudes, Tetris, Dragon's Lair, Missile Command and NBA Jam, Allen said.

There is no kitchen, but customers will be allowed to bring in outside food. All games will be set to free play, so no tokens will be necessary, Allen said.

The arcade is in the former Annoyance Theater space, a popular entertainment venue that moved to Lakeview in 2013. It's also next door to Lao Sze Chuan, which opened in 2012.

The bar chose the location because "it was one of the only quadrants in the city that didn't have an arcade and bar, Allen said.

Arcade and bar Replay Andersonville opened in September just a few blocks north on Clark Street.
