BUCKTOWN — Police are studying surveillance videos showing two separate incidents of "seven or eight" men breaking into high-end clothing retailers in the 1700 block of North Damen Avenue, according to a Tuesday alert.

In each of the break-ins, occurring in the pre-dawn hours of Nov. 21 and Dec. 3, the group stole "a large quantity of merchandise" and a cash register, according to police.

In both cases the burglars drove off in a rental truck, "possibly a U-Haul," police said.

The men were described as wearing face masks, hooded sweatshirts or jackets, gloves and jeans, according to the alert.

Anyone with information on the burglaries or the suspects is asked to call detectives at 312-744-8263.
