Six Motorists Sorry They Left Their Cars Running After Thieves Drive Off

OLD TOWN — At least six cars were reported stolen on the Near North Side since Nov. 4, according to a police alert issued Tuesday. 

In every case, police said, the cars were left running with no one inside when an unknown person jumped inside and drove off.

The thefts occurred "in all hours of the day," according to the alert, on the following blocks and dates:

• The 800 block of North Larrabee Street on Nov. 4

• The 200 block of West Scott Street on Nov. 4

• The 1600 block of North Wells Street on Nov. 18

• The 1900 block of North Sheffield Avenue on Nov. 21

• The 400 block of West Division Street on Nov. 23

• The 1600 block of North Vine Street on Dec. 4

Police did not provide a description of a suspect or suspects.
