CHICAGO — The PAWS animal shelter will host a 36-hour Adopt-A-Thon starting Friday.

PAWS, 1997 N. Clybourn Ave., is the city's largest no-kill animal shelter. During the event, attendees will be able to adopt dogs, puppies, cats and kittens while learning about pet overpopulation.

The Adopt-A-Thon starts 11 a.m. Friday and ends 11 p.m. Saturday. You can learn about the nearly 150 pets who will be up for adoption online at PAWS' website.

Here's a sneak peek at some of the pets:

Ricotta, a 5-month-old girl.

Grand Moff Tarkin, a 4-month-old boy.

Maxwell, the 2-year-old boy.
