23-Year-Old Man Shot and Killed After Argument in North Lawndale Identified

CHICAGO — A 23-year-old man was fatally shot after getting into an argument in North Lawndale Friday afternoon, according to police.

The man was in the 4100 block of West 21st Street at 3:55 p.m. when he got in an argument with two other men in the street, said Officer Ana Pacheco, Chicago Police spokeswoman.

One of those men grabbed a gun and opened fire, shooting the 23-year-old man in the head, Pacheco said. He was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital in critical condition, she said.

Lamont Alexander, of the same block as the shooting, was pronounced dead at the scene at 7:48 p.m., according to Cook County Medical Examiner's office records.

No arrests have been made, as the investigation is ongoing, Pacheco said.
