BEVERLY — A romantic carriage ride through the tree-lined streets of Beverly is just one of the many attractions of a Friday night fundraiser for Beacon Therapeutic Diagnostic and Treatment Center.

The school that serves disadvantaged families at 10650 S. Longwood Drive will host its 23rd annual Holiday Supper from 6:30-10:30 p.m. Tickets to the event themed "Wrapped in Goodness" cost $75.

The fundraiser on the school's hilltop campus in Beverly also includes food, music, an open bar, a silent auction and raffles.

Beacon Therapeutic was founded as a private day school in 1968. Today, it serves children who don't fit into the traditional school environment for reasons such as behavior problems, cognitive delays or even autism, said Peggy Rourke, Beacon's director of development.

"In the 90s, we discovered that some of our students were homeless," said Rourke, adding that the school responded with special programs and services to cater to the unique needs of displaced children and parents.

To buy tickets, visit Beacon Therapeutic's website or call 773-298-1243.
