CHICAGO — A 23-year-old man is dead after chasing after a bus in Austin Thursday night, according to police.
The man was running after a bus in the 5500 block of West North Avenue at 10:30 p.m. Thursday when he reached out and hit the bus with his hand, said Officer Ana Pacheco, Chicago Police spokeswoman.
The bus driver then noticed the man and stopped the bus, Pacheco said. The man was then found on the ground with serious injuries, Pacheco said.
He was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital and pronounced dead, Pacheco said.
Though he was killed in the incident, the man's injuries do not indicate that he was run over by the bus, Pacheco said. The police's major accidents bureau is investigating the incident, she said.
