CHICAGO — One man was killed and another wounded in separate shootings on the South Side since Wednesday, according to police.
A 63-year-old man was shot dead in West Pullman early Thursday, police said.
In nonfatal shootings, a 32-year-old man was wounded in a Brighton Park shooting Wednesday afternoon, said Officer Ana Pacheco, Chicago Police spokeswoman.
The man was walking in the 4000 block of South Rockwell Street at 4:40 p.m. when a gray minivan stopped, someone inside got out and opened fire before driving off in the van, Pacheco said. He was struck in the left thigh and was taken by a friend to St. Anthony Hospital, where he was treated and released, Pacheco said.
The man was a documented gang member, police said.
