NORWOOD PARK — Taft High School's teachers of the month for December not only get bragging rights — they also get the best parking spots on campus.

Principal Mark Grishaber picked Grazyna Zmyslowski, a teacher in the school's severe and profound cognitive disabilities program, and science teacher Brian Hayes as teachers of the month for the Norwood Park school, 6530 W. Bryn Mawr Ave.

Both "embody the spirit and commitment to excellence that make us proud to have them on our staff," according to a statement from school officials.

Grishaber gave up the principal's parking spot in order to honor a teacher every month when he took the top job at the school in July 2014.

Grishaber accepts nominations for teacher of the month via email.
