CHICAGO — One of the suspects in the San Bernardino, Calif., rampage that killed 14 once listed Chicago as his birthplace on a dating site, NBC News reports.

Syed Rizwan Farook is the man on the dating site, his brother-in-law told NBC.

The profile name was "farooksyed49" on the dating website iMilap.com, which describes itself as catering to people "with disabilities and second marriage."

The profile user identified himself as Muslim American, said he was from a "religious but modern family" and listed "Eastern and Western Mix" under family values, according to NBC.

The user also said he enjoyed working on cars, reading religious books, eating out, travel and "just hang[ing] out in back yard doing target practice with younger sister and friends."

"Farooksyed49" said he was looking for marriage in "California/Riverside," which is about 11 miles south of San Bernardino.

His age on the site is listed as 22. Authorities listed his current age as 28.

Records indicate he may have lived in Chicago and the surrounding area in the 1990s, with his family moving a number of times.

His father told the New York Daily News that his son graduated from La Sierra High School in Riverside, Calif., in 2003.

Farook married Tashfeen Malik, 27, two years ago, family members said. Malik was also killed during the shooting. His parents reportedly immigrated to the U.S. from Southeast Asia.

Farook joined co-workers at an annual holiday party for the San Bernardino County Public Health Department at the Inland Regional Center, but after a dispute, left the event, police officials said. He and his wife returned dressed in tactical gear and carrying assault rifles, they said.

The motive of the shooting is unknown. The couple were killed in a shootout with police.

He worked as a health technician inspecting restaurants and hotels and swimming pools.

A brother-in-law told reporters in California Wednesday that Farook recently traveled to Saudi Arabia and had met his wife online. The two had a baby and, as the brother-in-law described it, appeared to be "living the American dream."

Farook earned about $70,000 annually as a county inspector assigned to restaurants, bakeries and public swimming pools, according to the New York Times.
