ROGERS PARK — A new type of artisanal shop is coming to the cobblestone streets of Glenwood Avenue: Tulip Toy Gallery sex shop and Vamp Silicone, a custom sex-toy making studio.

Opening Friday, the digs at 7005 N. Glenwood Ave. would be Tulip's third location, with other shops in Boystown and the original Andersonville location.

The sex-toy studio and adult toy shop will share the storefront, with many of Vamp's products, plus a variety of other brands, available for sale through Tulip.

The sex toys are made with medical grade silicone, and customers can consult with the artists themselves "to receive a truly one-of-a-kind pleasurable custom creation." Tulip also offers a range of vegan lubes and condoms, lingerie, sexual education books and more "all in a welcoming and safe boutique environment with a knowledgeable staff ... Tulip is for everyone."

Everything on display can be turned on and tested (to a degree) in-store.

The businesses, both LGBT-owned, said in a statement they've long "dreamed" of putting their two concepts together, and found Rogers Park would be the perfect fit.

"Thriving with theaters, art galleries, yoga, dance studios, restaurants such as the Heartland Cafe, and more small businesses, the Glenwood Arts District in Rogers Park is a Chicago gem," the owners said in a statement.
