Armed Robbery in Mount Greenwood Under Investigation, Police Say

MOUNT GREENWOOD — Police are looking for two men who robbed a cellphone store in the 11100 block of South Kedzie Avenue on Tuesday.

Two men armed with handguns robbed the store at 10 a.m. Tuesday and fled with various electronic devices, personal belongings from several of the victims and an undetermined amount of cash, police said. The robbery was witnessed by three men — ages 23, 77 and 83.

The robbers, described as black men ages 20-30, made off in a light-colored vehicle, and no injuries were reported, according to police.

A manager at the Verizon Wireless store at 11101 S. Kedzie Ave. in Mount Greenwood confirmed the incident and said, "Everyone is OK."

Detectives are investigating the robbery.
