Friends of the 46th Ward School Host Fundraiser at Fat Cat

UPTOWN — Friends of the 46th Ward Schools will host a fundraiser Wednesday at Fat Cat to support several neighborhood schools, the group said.

From 6-9 p.m. Wednesday, the group will be accepting donations at the restaurant and bar at 4840 N. Broadway that will go toward schools supplies, winter gear, special programs and projects and other needs that arise at the schools, according to a news release.

The group will accept PayPal donations on site and will be selling raffle tickets to benefit Brennemann Elementary, Courtenay Language Arts Center, Disney Magnet School, Greeley Elementary, McCutcheon Elementary and Uplift High School. The restaurant will also be donation portions of proceeds from Rivera and Hot Cider drinks, the release said.

The group is also accepting new hats, mittens, gloves and scarves for 46th Ward schools, which can be dropped off at Ald. James Cappleman's office, branches of the Uptown Library and Latin School.
