Man, 20, Killed In Englewood Shooting Sunday, Police Say

CHICAGO — A 20-year-old man was shot and killed in Englewood Sunday afternoon, according to police.

The man was in his car in the 900 block of West 71st Street at 2:50 p.m. when another car pulled up and someone inside fired shots, said Officer Jose Estrada, Chicago Police spokesman.

He has been identified as Jacques Barnes, of the 4700 block of South Wabash Avenue, according to the Cook County Medical Examiner's Office.

Barnes was shot in his head and was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center, where he was later pronounced dead, Estrada said. He was pronounced dead at 5:28 p.m., according to the medical examiner.

No arrests have been made as the investigation is ongoing, Estrada said.
