
CHICAGO — A 42-year-old woman died after being hit by a trolley in the Loop Saturday, according to police.
The woman was crossing Michigan Avenue at Monroe Street about 10:25 a.m. when she was struck by the trolley, said Officer Jose Estrada, Chicago Police Spokesman. She was crossing in the crosswalk, Estrada said.
She was taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital, where she was pronounced dead, Estrada said.
The trolley driver, a 49-year-old woman, was ticketed for striking a pedestrian in a crosswalk, Estrada said.
The incident is still under investigation by the department's major accidents bureau, he said.
