ANDERSONVILLE — Crossroads Trading has finally announced its opening date.
In an email Thursday, the buy/sell/trade fashion retailer announced it will open at 5127 N. Clark St. on Dec. 10. The Andersonville location will be the retailer's 33rd store in the U.S.
The company is "so excited to build a brick & mortar that will supply the community with great designer labels at a portion of the price, and cultivate an inventory that reflects the Andersonville neighborhood," the email said.
The store allows shoppers to sell gently used clothes for cash or trade credit, with an emphasis on the eco-friendly aspects of the practice.
"Shoppers can rest assured that by shopping and selling through Crossroads, they’re helping keep clothes out of landfills and reducing their carbon footprint," according to the email.
According to its website, the company looks "for men’s and women’s in-season, on-trend clothing and accessories in excellent condition."
"Each store is populated with clothes from the neighborhood it inhabits based on their Buy/Sell model. So each store really represents the community it is in," a spokeswoman for the company said.
Some designer labels that can be found at the Andersonville location include: J. Crew, Kate Spade, TopShop and Michael Kors among others, the email said.
