LAKEVIEW — James Taylor will play a single show at Wrigley Field next summer on June 30, 2016, Live Nation announced Thursday.

Tickets go on sale Friday, Nov. 20, at 10 a.m. via LiveNation.com and Cubs.com/JamesTaylor for the show, which will also feature special guest Jackson Browne.

Live Nation Chicago President Jason Wright celebrated the show as "James Taylor's first stadium performance in Chicago at the iconic Wrigley Field" and anticipated that it will be "a once in a lifetime experience."

"We are honored to have the legendary James Taylor perform at our beautiful ballpark," said Chicago Cubs Vice President Carl Rice in a statement. "He is a world-renowned musician and we are beyond excited for what will be a magical night this June!"

Taylor, a member of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and the Songwriters Hall of Fame, will headline the one-night-only show.

Taylor has been singing, writing music and playing guitar for more than 40 years and has sold more than 100 million albums, earning gold, platinum and multi-platinum awards and multiple Grammy awards for his musicianship and his songwriting with seminal hits like 1970's "Sweet Baby James." In 2015, he released his first new studio album in 13 years, "Before This World." In 2000, he was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

Singer-songwriter Jackson Browne also came to prominence in the 1970s with songs like "Doctor My Eyes," "Somebody's Baby" and "These Days." He was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2004.

The Cubs and Wrigley Field are 95 percent owned by a trust established for the benefit of the family of Joe Ricketts, owner and CEO of DNAinfo.com. Joe Ricketts has no direct involvement in the management of the iconic team.
