BRIDGEPORT — Jeremy Kitchen might have the most punk rock job in town.

His organization is anti-censorship. It gives away stuff for free. And, unless you’re breaking the law or disrupting others, employees will not discriminate against you for any reason.

“Being a librarian is probably the most punk rock job there is,” said the branch manager of the Richard J. Daley Library.

That’s why it’s fitting that you’ll soon have a chance to rock out with a pair Chicago punk bands inside the library at 3400 S. Halsted St. for the next installment of “Punk Rock And Donuts.”

Set for Nov. 28, the free punk show features Wet Wallet — a husband-and-wife duo best described as “North Side Bizarro Noise Terrorists,” Kitchen said — and Rumores, a hardcore five-piece.

The amplifiers get loud at 2 p.m. Jackalope Coffee & Teahouse will host a coffee hour where showgoers can meet and socialize before the show.

The idea behind Punk Rock and Donuts is to give neighborhood kids a safe place to catch a show at a reasonable time of day.

“I think about the places I used to hang out,” said Kitchen, who grew up near Detroit and spent two decades singing in numerous punk groups. “I wouldn’t want kids from my neighborhood to have to deal with that kind of stuff.”
