Attention Chicago Police: Al's Beef Will Give You a Free Hot Dog Tuesday

CHICAGO — Al's Italian Beef will give away food to all uniformed Chicago Police officers after getting inducted in the Vienna Beef Hall of Fame.

Police in uniform can receive a free hot Vienna Beef hot dog, fries and drink from 1 to 4 p.m. Tuesday at any of the chain's Chicago locations.

“Since 1938, Chicago’s finest have been coming to Taylor Street Al’s Beef,” said Chris Pacelli, owner of the legendary Taylor Street location, in a statement. “The least we can do is thank them with lunch on us.”

More than 100 restaurants or vendors are in the Vienna Beef Hall of Fame. According to its website, Vienna Beef bestows the honor to those that sell its encased meat, as well as provide a "contribution to their community, philanthropic leadership, and overall commitment to the quality of their product and the satisfaction of their customers."

Here are the Al's Beef restaurants in Chicago:

West Loop: 601 W. Adams St.

Lakeview: 3420 N. Clark St.

Wicker Park: 1300 N. Milwaukee Ave.

River North: 169 W. Ontario St. 

Little Italy: 1079 W. Taylor St.

The Loop: 234 S. Wabash Ave.

Fuller Park: 5441 S. Wentworth Ave.

Avondale: 2804 N. Western Ave.
