JEFFERSON PARK — Do you know what to do in the face of an emergency or natural disaster?

A seminar set to take place from 6-7:30 p.m. Thursday at the Jefferson Park Police District Headquarters, 5151 N. Milwaukee Ave. will offer residents tips on how to handle a heat wave, blizzard, tornado or man-made disaster, officials said.

The seminar will cover how to make family emergency plans and emergency kits.

In addition, officials from the city's Community Emergency Response Team and Office of Emergency Management will discuss how residents would be notified in the event of an emergency and how they can protect themselves from fire and get rid of household hazards.
