CHATHAM — Free lunch will be given to the first 50 people after a Saturday rally by the group My Block, My Hood, My City.

Founder Jahmal Cole said he wants to unite people from all of Chicago's neighborhoods. The rally is for a "more interconnected Chicago."

"Let's leave our differences at home, and come out this Saturday...Let's celebrate this diversity and share some hope," he posted on Facebook.

Participants will meet at 11 a.m. in the Pride Cleaners parking lot, 558 E. 79th St. After the rally the group will head to Captain Hard Times Dining, 436 East 79th St. for lunch.

Cole's group takes young people from poorer neighborhoods to new communities. In October, a group from Pullman and Roseland visited Edgewater.
