COOK COUNTY CRIMINAL COURTHOUSE — An Austin man has been charged with murdering 56-year-old Albert Glover during a botched robbery in 2014.

Prosecutors allege Terrell Boyd, 24, and two others tried to rob Glover about 1:30 p.m. on June 26, 2014, outside Glover's home in the 100 block of North Leamington Avenue.

The two accomplices have been identified in photo arrays, but police are still looking for the pair, according to Assistant State's Attorney Molly Donnelly, who spoke during a bond hearing Friday.

A witness saw Boyd and one of his accomplices walk up to Glover on June 26, while the second accomplice waited in a nearby van, prosecutors said.

The accomplice with Boyd pointed a gun at Glover and told him to go inside his house, Donnelly said. Glover refused, and during a struggle that ensued, the accomplice allegedly shot Glover in the leg. Glover fell to the ground, Donnelly said, and Boyd shot him in the back.

Boyd and his accomplice ran off, and Glover was pronounced dead later that day at Mount Sinai Hospital. According to authorities, he suffered gunshot wounds in his front right thigh and upper right back.

At least three witnesses saw Boyd or one or more of his accomplices on the scene when the shots were fired, Donnelly said. Police recovered 9mm shell casings.

The accomplice who shot Glover in the leg allegedly told someone that he and Boyd were trying to get Glover into his house so they could rob him, Donnelly said.

Boyd, of the 5000 block of West Fulton Street, is charged with first-degree murder.

Cook County Judge Laura Sullivan on Friday ordered him held without bail.
