Gage Park Shooting Kills Man, 24, Police Say

CHICAGO — A 24-year-old man was fatally wounded in a Gage Park shooting Tuesday evening, according to police.

The man was standing in the 5600 block of South Artesian Avenue around 6:15 p.m. when two men approached and one opened fire, said Officer Ana Pacheco, a Chicago Police spokeswoman.

The man was shot in his head, neck, torso and leg and was taken to Stroger Hospital in critical condition before he was pronounced dead, Pacheco said.

The Cook County Medical Examiner's Office identified the man as Marlon Spivey, of the 5600 block of South Campbell Avenue. Spivey was pronounced dead at the scene at 7:28 p.m.

No arrests have been made and the investigation is ongoing, Pacheco said.
