COOK COUNTY CRIMINAL COURTHOUSE — A North Lawndale man has been charged with attacking a CTA employee at the Pulaski Blue Line station.

The incident happened about 8 p.m. Thursday when Jeffery Hood, 34, approached a CTA customer-service assistant inside the station at 530 S. Pulaski Rd., according to Assistant State's Attorney Erin Antonietti, who spoke during a bond hearing Friday.

The 26-year-old CTA employee thought Hood was invading her personal space and asked him to step back, court records show.

That's when Hood allegedly grabbed the woman by her shoulders and shook her several times before grabbing her hair and pulling her to the ground, Antonietti said.

The employee suffered a two-inch gash to her forehead, according to the arrest report. She refused medical attention but said she wanted to press charges.

Hood, of the 3100 block of West Garfield Boulevard, is charged with aggravated battery to a transit employee.

Cook County Judge Maria Kuriakos Ciesil on Friday ordered him held in lieu of $10,000 bail.
